“Had an honestly pretty abysmal first experience with Aardvark. Called about a drain moth problem and the occasional mouse. My technician, while polite, did absolutely nothing to treat the drain moth issue unless I bought a $25 bottle of cleaner and did it myself (which he himself didn't even recommend I do!) on top of the service fee. Aardvark couldn't at least treat it initially and offer me to buy a bottle as a preventative after the appointment? For the mouse issue, he did place baits traps around the home in common areas. I had mentioned that there was a slight smell that may be a dead mouse in a return air vent, and while that issue wouldn't be addressed he still placed a poison bait trap right next to a one-way air return vent. Wouldn't that just make the issue worse with potentially now poisoned mice entering a vent they can't escape from? I asked a good bit of pretty basic surface-level questions and virtually all responses were either "I'm not sure" or "I don't know", which didn't instill much confidence in me about who I hired for a pest control job. This moth issue in particular continues to be a very annoying issue for me in my home, and I was excited for this appointment and waited over 2 weeks to get any sort of help, but instead I was extremely let down by the complete lack of help or knowledge. To try to charge almost $200 for services from someone who knew honestly nothing and suggest I handle the problem myself is ridiculous. But fortunately customer service was able and kind enough to reduce my final bill to $90. I had much greater expectations from Aardvark, and unfortunately my experience was less than stellar. EDIT: In fairness to the owner's response and for those reading this in the future it was indeed my mistake for not including that they were kindly able to reduce my final bill down to $90 from $175. My apologies. I only alluded to the full price with "try to charge" as I don't know if my circumstances for lowering the final bill would happen to every instance here with other customers and didn't want to set a precedence. I have edited the main review to reflect that. However, I only called once to reschedule for events outside of my control conflicting with my initial scheduled appointment. The second time I called was to see if mice control would be added to my ticket, since my issue concerned the moths and I didn't want to blindside the technician with another issue they weren't initially aware of. I did not cancel twice. I was also not made aware before my appointment that I would be asked to purchase a bottle of gel cleaner on the spot, I was just expecting some sort of initial preventative treatment and then given the tools/instruction to do it myself after they leave. I do appreciate the information about the vents in the review response, I will remember that going forward.”
