“Edited to further emphasize certain points that apparently not clear enough in the review (additions at the bottom). Where to begin? First of all, I avoid giving bad reviews at all cost, but my (surprisingly abundant) patience finally ran out. I hired plunketts (that's their name now, looks like the company was sold) for removal of some raccoons in the attic and repair. It all started OK, they removed a few raccoons and then (without checking the attic) they did the (quite half-baked, might I add) repair (didn't even replace the broken board, essentially they charged me over $2000 for a few screws, you could see a huge gap where the board was broken). Surprise, surprise, they trapped a raccoon inside (who would have thought after not checking the attic?). We informed them, again they did not check the attic, they just laid some traps around the house (when clearly the access point was blocked off), as you would logically expect the raccoon broke the gutter yet again. Believe it or not the nonsense doesn't end here; they put some traps and caught an opossum, we called it in, they came and serviced the traps: they did not service the trap with the opossum (even after my wife told them multiple times that there was an opposum there .. they just said that "they checked the traps"... also, that was specifically what we told them when we called: that there was an opposum in a trap), we noticed a few days later as we smelled the stench of rotting dead opossum while working in the yard. After that we couldn't get them to come back, it was always "we'll go tomorrow" and then they would never show up (time after time, after time; yes, after I made work arrangements to be home for them to come by, just for them to leave me waiting ... more than once). After over 2 months of this nonsense (3 if you count when I first called) I ended up having to hire a different company (and of course pay again) to fix my gutter (finally, after paying double, I have my gutter fixed, no thanks to plunketts/varment guard). Do yourself a favor and avoid this company like the plague. For what it's worth, I had hired them when they were still not bought by plunketts and had no issues... Maybe I was unlucky this time around, but there was a clear lack of care in the service (and an unreasonable lack of communication, as they never contacted me all the times they left me waiting). Edit below: Not sure what they call multiple attempts: I called at least (this is only phone calls, not counting texts or emails) on may 24, may 31, june 7, june 12, june 27, june 30, july 3, july 5 and july 6 actually ATTEMPTING to get them to come and the response was always (absolutely no exceptions) either (a) no pickup, I left a voicemail that remained unanswered or (b) they said they were coming on some date and (in case it wasn't clear when I said it in my original review, since apparently it wasnt clear to whomever wrote the response) DID NOT SHOW UP (no calls, no texts, no explanations, no door knocks, no doorbell rings, just no-shows... period... again, after staying home from work various times to receive them). Not sure how that translates to "multiple attempts" ... If "multiple attempts" is what is documented in your system then there is some serious lack of honesty going on in the report writing and you should investigate it if you don't want to keep getting unsatisfied customers (this may only be 1 person, but left unchecked can turn into a real issue). It is true, they did refund me about $300, of over $2000 (which is still helluva lot of money to end up right where I started ... for months)... Now comes the real funny part about this: they charged me for the fascia board when they did the original "repair" which (if it was not clear from the original review) did NOT replace the fascia board... So they charged me for something they had no intention of replacing in the first place (and they would've actually gotten away with it if the gutter hadn't broken again)... I was really going to let that one slide, but they had to bring it up in their response.”
