“We hired this company for fumigation service at our property. The fumigation itself was completed, but as the weather turned warmer, we began noticing a strong and persistent odor coming from the attic crawl space wall. The smell has now lasted for over a month with no signs of improvement. At the same time, hundreds of large flies began emerging from the attic area. Many were too large to be caught by our electric trap, and the infestation became so severe that my husband had to turn off the trap when we were away due to fire safety concerns. The combination of the overwhelming odor and the fly infestation made the situation impossible to ignore and clearly indicated that something had died inside the structure as a result of the fumigation. This, as it turns out, is a foreseeable outcome of fumigation services. Unfortunately, it was not disclosed to us beforehand. When we contacted the company, someone came out and confidently insisted that nothing could have died due to the fumigation and suggested the problem must be “outside.” Rodent traps were offered as the solution. After my husband insisted and personally entered the crawl space to take photos, we discovered two rodent carcasses inside the area. So much for “outside.” We were told a report would be provided. Instead, the next day we were informed that the company would not assist with remediation and would be happy to help for an additional fee with rodent removal. There was no meaningful follow-up, no remediation plan, and no accountability, despite the issue clearly arising after their service. We reviewed the signed agreement and found no disclosure or waiver regarding rodents dying in walls, carcasses, odor, or contamination resulting from fumigation. While the fumigation itself was completed, the lack of transparency, and the refusal to take responsibility for a foreseeable consequence was disappointing. Homeowners should be aware of this risk and ask very specific questions before proceeding.”

“Purchased a 1911 home in May 2023. Del Rio did the initial termite inspection as well as a full fumigation and wood repair. The fumigation and wood repair ran about $5k and was meant to last for 5-10 years. We decided to sell the home just over 2 years later and the buyer just did a termite inspection. They said it was completely termite infested and the home looked like it was never treated - despite us doing this only 2 years ago! The 2-year warranty with Del Rio expired 7 months ago so they didn’t have any detailed reports of the service and couldn’t help much. I completely understand the warranty policy but I was shocked that the reports came back so severe. Because we never actually saw the house be tented, we’re wondering if the service was even performed in the first place. We ended up having to credit our buyer $5k to re-do the fumigation. We’re now $10k out of pocket for a termite issue that should have been resolved for at least another few years if not more”
