“My house was tent fumigated for dry wood termites 23-25 April 2018. The chemical used was Vikane gas fumigant. The contractor was Donnie Griffin Pest Control Fern Road Lakeland telephone 859-3898. They provided Nylofume bags to protect the food and other commodities. The price was $1850, as you know my house is rather large ranch style. Griffin’s crew actually did the work whereas most of the local fumigation companies will actually subcontract the tenting work to Griffin and then add a percentage markup on the price. Basically, I am very pleased with the work and would give them a five-star rating. However, the tent removal and cleanup appears to have been done by unsupervised Mexican laborers. When the heavy portion of tent on the rear of the house was removed, the workers dragged the tent through the yard gate forcing the gate open in the wrong direction. The hinge was broken from the wood gate and the hinge pin was pulled loose from and breaking the block wall. I complained to Griffin and they sent a supervisor to inspect the damage. He promised to return and repair the damage; that was the last I heard from him. On my own I reattached the hinge to the gate and replaced the broken cement blocks. It was an involved repair and took approximately three days labor. I would put a $200 value on the time and maternal for the repair; that of course was out of my pocket. For the lack of customer service and extremely poor response, I will lower my five-star rating to a two-star rating. Pictures of the repair will follow this.”
