“From ordering to final installation, this was a great project. The people at Mosquito Curtains asked specific questions during the order phase to ensure that I got the right hardware for my installation. I was given the opportunity to review the proposed order before placing it. The staff were knowledgeable and patient and really were available to address my concerns after receiving my order. The snap tool worked great and was well worth the effort of returning it to Mosquito Curtains. We wanted an unobstructed view through the mosquito curtain so we chose magnetic doorways on each side of our patio. We also chose adhesive snaps for connecting the stucco strips to brick. We did not want to drill into the mortar between the brick to anchor the metal male marine snap. The magnetic doorway design of rare earth magnets and fiberglass rods seals the opening quickly and effortlessly. Our patio is tall enough that going through the magnetic doorways generally does not separate the rare earth magnets near the top of the stucco strips which allows the curtain to quickly snap back into place. Watching the installation videos is a must. The videos provide many helpful tips to make this DIY project quicker and easier to complete. I found the video instructions easy to understand and follow – the presenter is a great teacher. I experienced almost every challenge mentioned in the videos but the tips provided helped me easily overcome each challenge. Installation of the rare earth magnets and fiberglass rods works best with two people. However, it can be done by one person – it just takes much more time and physical effort (a lot of inch-worming to move the fabric). Don’t rush installation of the fiberglass rods because they will puncture through the side of the fabric if forced. I enjoyed the challenge of this project. The unique elements of each installation (measurements and installation surfaces: wood, brick, cement, siding, etc.) make this a challenging but fulfilling DIY project. We’ve left the mosquito curtain in place through a few heavy storms since completing installation and it held up well and protected things on the patio. We have also used the included tie back straps to hold the curtain out of the way for full backyard activities. With our Mosquito Curtain, we now have an outdoor space we enjoy free from mosquitos and bugs. “Don't wait. Just order them. I found these curtains a year ago, but didn't get around to ordering until this spring. We opted for the "no-see-um" mesh living in coastal Florida (IYKYK) The ordering process was extremely easy and we had multiple opportunities to ask questions and get clarification before we finalized the order. Our order arrived a week before the scheduled date, and was labeled and packaged exceptionally, even including a few extra materials for "just in case". The high quality of all the materials is unlike anything you would ever get from Amazon or other big box retailers. Though we did have to wait a few days for the snaps to cure on our vinyl siding (due to using sticky snaps instead of screw in, thanks MCI for that recommendation) the installation process from start to finish didn't take longer than 3 hours. It was all JUST as the installation videos made it to be, and those videos were so easy to follow. I would order more tomorrow if I needed them, but I don't foresee needing replacements anytime soon. We've now been enjoying them for a couple of weeks and my porch morning coffee time is so much lonelier without all the flying guests 😉 We hope to be enjoying these for many years to come.
