“Just spoke to this company in an effort to schedule a termite inspection to facilitate VA mortgage refinance requirements. They told me that I had to have a service contract in place with them and I had to allow them to install traps around the perimeter of my home (at an initial cost of $699 not including the inspection cost $240) prior to them “completing the inspection and letting me have the report!” Sounds a little backwards to me. I’d think the inspection would come first, then a recommendation and estimate of service along with the report. This is a tactic used by subpar companies that really have no business being in business. I haven’t discussed this with my attorney yet but on the surface it doesn’t seem legal and even if it is, it’s still bad business!”
