“Well I did work with them about a year and a half ago and now they're out of business I'm presuming I can't find or call or get any sort of answer from anything. Still have termites”

“Have you ever hired a company and they ended up being a bigger headache than the original problem itself? That's what I experienced! In my opinion, probably one of the worst businesses in San Diego! * UPDATE: After reading what the owner wrote below in their reply to my above paragraph post, I got to thinking that I could NOT be the only one who has had problems with this company. I went and looked up their reviews on Yelp and saw dissatisfied customers, AND, on the bottom of their website, I clicked on the BBB A+ logo, thinking there is no way they have an A+ rating. Not to my surprise, I discovered by clicking on the link on the bottom of their website that links to the Better Business Bureau that there have been complaints against this company and they DO NOT have an A+ rating..I wish I had known about their reviews before doing business with them so that I could have learned from prior experiences from some of their other customers.. Also, it seems odd that I am complaining about a negative experience with this business, and the owner includes in their reply that they will give me a great price if I want to use their services. Seems like very odd behavior...”

“The company responded below but I disagree with them and stick to what I wrote as to what happened. My parents, in their 80’s, had a termite issue. DAV Termite & Pest Inc. suggested a TimBor treatment that came with either a 1-year warranty for $925 or 3-year warranty for $1,500. My parents opted for the 3-year warranty that came with a free annual inspection & free termite service if termites were found. However, the rep didn't have an agreement for the 3-year warranty, so he took the 1-year agreement, scratched through parts of the document and changed 1 year to 3 years. My parents thought everything was fine and so they made a $100 deposit, however my parents couldn’t read everything in the agreement because at their age some of the text was too small. They had assumed that everything they were promised verbally was in the agreement. A couple of days later the termite tech came over to do the treatment & my brother happened to come by. He noticed that the agreement did not include what was promised with the 3-year warranty; free annual inspections and free treatments if termites were found. My mom called the company to say she was ready to pay the balance due but asked that they first bring over an addendum that would include everything verbally promised. The office said someone would call back. When someone called back, my mom was treated rudely, threatened with a lien against their property, & hung up on. All my mom wanted was an addendum that included everything verbally promised so that she could make the final payment. That’s a reasonable request but the company wouldn’t do it and instead just made threats. My parents decided they did NOT want to work with this company because they no longer had faith in them & so they said they’d pay for the service that was done, but no longer wanted the three year warranty and now wanted the one year warranty. Instead of just giving my parents a new one year warranty agreement, the threats continued. My parents are elderly and the stress was a lot for them and they had many sleepless nights. Two different people at the company said, “don’t you trust us?” Their agreement states, "this contract is intended to express the entire agreement...and no agreement other than set forth herein shall be binding..." They're agreement says verbal commitments aren't valid, and yet they're promising things verbally and saying, 'trust us?!' Eventually I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and The Structural Pest Control Board. The Structural Pest Control Board gave them their license and requires that everything be in writing that nothing be verbally promised. I also called a lawyer for advice because my parents were trying to pay them but the company just kept saying “don’t contact us, we’ve turned this over to collections, and a lien will be placed on your home.” I don’t believe that DAV had the legal right to do this when my parents had been trying to pay them and only needed, in writing, everything verbally promised. The attorney agreed and said this company had no idea how much trouble they’d be in if this went to court. After a lot of stress for my parents, DAV eventually sent me an email saying that they did not want to do business with us and were voiding the agreement and returning the deposit. We agreed to it but we never asked for that. My parents are honest people & since the termite treatment had already been done, my parents wanted to pay them, but they also needed everything promised to be in writing. This never would have happened, (1) had they had an agreement for the three year warranty they were selling, (2) had the company just given my parents the requested addendum, (3) had the company just given my parents the agreement with the one year warranty they eventually requested. My parents tried to resolve this in good faith but DAV Termite & Pest created this problem from the beginning and blew it way out of proportion never doing anything other than making threats.”
