“I was terribly disappointed with GetBatsOut. They hold themselves out as THE company to use, with great professionalism and expertise, but I found them to demonstrate little of either. First of all, getting responses from them is problematic. It wasn't until I got in touch with the owner that I had calls returned. When they finally sent someone to inspect the property, the very nice fellow who came was (by his own admission) a novice who had little experience. He reported not seeing evidence of a significant bat problem. I then sent videos of a ton of bats - which had been in my 6,000 square foot attic for months at least (and possibly for years) - flying out of the attic on three consecutive nights. I spoke with the novice inspector and learned that he never looked at the part of the attic that was adjacent to where the bats flew out of the building. He said that he wanted to go back to complete the inspection, but was waiting to be instructed to go back. I called the company again and the completely unhelpful person answering the phone was insistent that there was no remediation to be done (even though the novice inspector acknowledged he hadn't performed a complete assessment). When I told her that the fellow agreed that he didn't check out the potential key locations where the bats likely roosted, she came up with some nonsense about the danger of going into the attic because bats can carry rabies. This is after they had already sent their rabies-vaccinated novice into the attic! Finally, they imply that they have lots of experience dealing with insurance companies. Yet, even though my policy seems to have no exclusion for bat issues, they told me that the insurance wouldn't pay anything. When I asked to speak with someone with that alleged insurance experience, the same unhelpful person refused to allow me to speak further with anyone about potential insurance coverage. I had the distinct impression that they had decided [why, I haven't the slightest idea] that they wouldn't make enough money to justify taking the job, and that they therefore had no desire to deal with me any longer. Utterly frustrated by the extraordinarily antagonistic attitude I was encountering, I finally just hung up in disgust.”
