I paid Titan a lot, as follows: April 2022 - $895 - Protection Plan April 2022 - $75 Initial Service Charge July 2022 - $75 Regular Service Charge Oct 2022 - $75 " " Jan 2023 - $75 " " Sep 2023 - $303 Annual Renewal Sep 2023 - $50 Reinstatement Charge Sep 2023 - $ 75 Pest Control Charge Total: $1623 Mar 2024: They're asking for another $303.I just gave them money six months ago! If I had paid this $303, that would bring my total up to $1926. Och! After talking to the gal in their accounts payable department (North Charleston office), it is evident that they're trying to behave like an Insurance company, but exempting themselves from the State regulations of the Department of Insurance. She used the following insurance terms with me: lapsed coverage, renewal fee, coverage contract, failure to pay your renewal and reinstatement payment. Her explanation for the new $303 Charge in March was that they're charging for the renewal effective in Apr 2023. Although she told me that my "coverage had lapsed" in Apr 2023, they renewed my coverage when I paid them in Sep 2023. She had trouble properly explaining that they were taking the "coverage" back to the renewal date of April 2023. This would be without a lapse in cover, although she had originally said my coverage had lapsed. This is double-talk and a real racket! In the end I decided that I don't like the way Titan does business, so I opted to let the "coverage lapse". By the way, this was not a pleasant conversation. This gal took the entire conversation very personally. Her voice was shaking with upset and she began using degrading accusations with a nasty tone telling me that, " You don't pay your bills" and "If you don't pay this time, we're not going to renew you again". How the heck would she know wether or not I pay me bills? Goodness me! Why so angry and aggressive? It's just business. It's not personal. My recommendation is to skip the too-big-for-their-britches companies and go with the small local independent business guy. Support your local community by keeping your money where you live.”
