“We signed up for EcoShield after a door-to-door sales visit back in June 2025. The representative was very persistent and we agreed to try the service, assuming we could evaluate it and decide later whether it was worth continuing. We began service in the same month, and even added their mosquito control add-on in July, hoping it would help address the pest issues we were experiencing around our home. Unfortunately, over the course of the service period we did not see meaningful improvement in the pest problem, including the mosquito issue despite the additional service. There were also several service visits that raised concerns. On one visit, a technician applied treatment shortly before a storm, which made us question how effective the treatment would be. On another occasion, a technician entered our backyard without informing us at the door that he had arrived, which made us uncomfortable as homeowners. The situation that ultimately led us to cancel was when the company scheduled another service visit in January. At that point, given that the service had not resolved our pest issues and considering the concerns from previous visits, we decided the service was not a good fit for us. When we cancelled, we were charged a $250 early termination fee according to the contract. While the fee may be disclosed in the agreement, it was frustrating to have to pay a significant amount simply to stop using a service that had not been effective for us. Our advice to anyone considering EcoShield is to carefully review the contract terms and cancellation policy before signing, especially if the service is offered through a door-to-door sales visit.”
