“Berrett Pest Control engaged in what can only be described as deceptive sales practices. I called specifically requesting a one-time treatment. During the sales call, I was pushed into a service agreement after being explicitly told they were running a special and that I could cancel at any time without penalty. That statement was the deciding factor in agreeing. When I later called to cancel, I was told — conveniently — that it was actually a term contract and could not be canceled. I asked them to review the original sales call, as they were very clear about the “cancel anytime” claim. I was told they would listen to the recording and call me back. They never did. I called again and spoke with a manager who claimed she would personally listen to the call. She later called back and admitted she did not listen to it herself, saying someone else did. They refused to provide the recording and simply said they were “standing by the agreement.” So let’s be clear: They upsell you under one set of terms, refuse to acknowledge what was said on their own recorded call, refuse to share the evidence, and then continue billing you anyway. This is bait-and-switch behavior and shows a complete lack of honesty and accountability. If this is how they treat customers when there’s a dispute, I would strongly recommend avoiding this company at all costs.”
